Want to work at Buddings?

We are Vancouver’s first flexible occasional daycare and, as we are growing rapidly, there are upcoming opportunities to join our team. For more information about our daycare, please review the How it Works and FAQ sections of the site.

Creative Educators for Flexible, Part-time Permanent Shifts

We provide flexible, occasional care for our member families Monday to Friday, from 8am – 6pm and Saturday from 10 – 4. Shifts are flexible, with the potential to be full-time and permanent, for the right person.

Positions include in-house training as well as opportunities to stretch your creative activity planning muscles. We are a small and collaborative work place, and with a high value placed on a willingness to learn, grow, and contribute to our centre.

Our centre is heavily reliant on our website, so comfort with a variety of web-based technologies, including blogging, social media, and image editing will be a big asset. Browse this website for examples. 😉

If you are a licensed ECE (or hold your Bachelor of Education, or relevant training), tell us about your talents.
Do you play an instrument? Have mad science skills? A killer pirate accent? Tell us about it in your cover letter!

Most importantly, we’re looking for dedicated educators who are passionate about providing thoughtful care of the “whole child,” with unconditional positive regard for children, families, and themselves.

Starting salary is dependent on experience and training and ranges between $15 – $17.

Take some time to review our website, buddings.ca, to get a feel for what we’re about, then send your résumé and cover letter to info@buddings.ca to tell us why you’re the right person for the job!

On-call Daycare Short-Stop longingly sought…

Flexible care means some hours are busy, and some are not. We always keep a 4:1 ratio in the centre, and our 10-hour days, 6 days a week, means short shifts at the end of the day and on weekends are available for someone with great time management, a fresh face and attitude, who lives close to Oak and Broadway.

Do you love working with kids, and have something to share with them? Are you interested in learning, and contributing to a small team? The teacher in shining armour, who strides through the gate at 3pm, changes the dynamic and gives everyone a breath of fresh energy. You will be our hero. Training will be provided.

Send your application AND COVER LETTER outlining your interest and availability to info@buddings.ca. This position is a step up from subbing, with some guaranteed hours available.

Join our Sub-List!

The nature of flexible care means that we can offer flexibility in our schedule for teachers, with part-time, casual, and substitute shifts available. If you would like to join our sub-list, please send your resume and a cover letter outlining your interest and experience, with your availability, and a couple of options in the next couple of weeks that would work for an interview.

We’re looking for Saturday Presenters!

Do you have a kid-related business or activity that you’d like to share with our buddies on Saturday afternoons? We’re opening on the weekends, and looking for ideas for special presentations, activities, creations, or events. The schedule is flexible, but presentations start at 11:10, as part of our new family orientation mornings.

If you have a fun idea that you’d like to share with children 18 months to 5 years old, send us a letter outlining your idea, experience with children, and any links we can follow to learn more about you.
