The Budding Child Philosophy
From 18 months to 5 years of age, the world is a giant mystery. There’s so much to learn!
Luckily, your toddlers and pre-schoolers’ minds are little sponges, soaking up knowledge from the places they go and everything they see and do. They absorb so much information from their everyday experiences that providing them with a great learning environment is the best thing you can do to help them take it all in.
At Buddings, we follow the “Emergent Curriculum,” meaning that our lesson plans are developed (emerge, if you will) from children’s interests. Teachers guide activities towards developmental goals, and because the format specifically caters to their abilities and interests, children take in the lesson organically, as a natural result of their experience.
Our amazement at how well your child stores information when it’s presented in the right way leads us to introduce lessons we think are most important for a modern young person: appreciating diversity, considering our resources, and living balanced, sustainable lifestyles. At Buddings, respect for each other and the environment is the standing theme for all we do.
